As I look back at my own journey of salvation, I am especially grateful for the preachers from whom I heard God’s word. I have felt moved as I took some time to hear Apostle Michael Orokpo and Apostle Grace Lubega speaking at Rhema Feast, but there has been a strange and even disturbing awareness that I have outgrown such kind of teaching. As that might not sound very humble, I would add that I do not intend in any way whatsoever to show any bit of arrogance or smugness towards those who have been very enthusiastic about and might have even felt helped and transformed through the ministrations at the conference. Personally, however, through and in some very good books, I have been so impacted and have learnt so much that it has felt I was going down a rung by listening in on the Rhema Feast sermons. There are people who will be helped by God’s grace and whose lives will be changed courtesy of the conference just as I was in times past. For me, however, an assignment beckons: “…until I come, give attendance to reading…” No conferences, or revival meetings, or hang-outs, or super Sundays for me unless they bear clear importance to my studying and my reading and my writing. No, thank you, but I won’t be coming. I can’t.
